After completing a course at the Canadian Institute of Floral Design, I was searching for a more refined and in depth learning experience that would help me grow beyond the basics. Having worked alongside talented designers, I just wanted to expand my skills further, which led me to take the beginner course at Design and Bloom.

This course exceeded my expectations. It covers everything from the tools needed to get started to advanced and creative design techniques that really elevate your work.

This course is valuable not only for beginners, but also for designers who want to deepen their knowledge and gain a stronger understanding of floral design techniques and artistry.

Dee is truly one of the most talented instructors I've had in floral design. Her passion, knowledge, and especially her teaching style made the entire experience even more enjoyable and inspiring. I would highly recommend this course to anyone beginning their journey in floral design!

I went to college for Floral Design and have a few years of experience as a florist, and Dee's course still taught me so many helpful tips and tricks. I highly recommend it to anyone just starting out, as well as those already in the industry. There is always something new to learn from Dee!

Simple and elegant. Natural and fresh.

The techniques behind the designs.

My approach draws on more than 30 years of floral design and my Scandinavian background. The course begins with the tools and mechanics you will use, so you are ready before the first arrangement.

Clay as a base

Three arrangements use clay as their design base, a method I have used for years in Denmark, where it is still used today. See how I work with it on wood and irregular roots.

Candles that stay put

The planter uses clay to hold its taper candles.

Other mechanics

Other mechanics include floral foam.

More than watching. Resources to work with.

Keep the materials list beside you as you source and design. Materials are not included in the course price, so every arrangement comes with exactly what you need to find.

  • A materials PDF with the complete list for every arrangement
  • Step-by-step instruction, with the reasoning behind each placement
  • Access to the 2026 online community
  • Lifetime access to revisit every lesson
